Healthcare Innovation & Commercialization Program at Harvard Medical School

Healthcare Innovation & Commercialization (HIC) is a student-organized workshop with the goal of helping Harvard MD and PhD students, and Post-Doctoral Fellows to succeed in medicine and life science entrepreneurship.  The course will be instructed by local industry leaders and venture capitalists.  Students will learn about industry trends in the life sciences, regulatory and reimbursement issues, health policy, startups and startup financing, venture capital, licensing, technology transfer (from academia to business) and other matters related to the biotech, medtech, diagnostics and medical device industries.  Students will develop a practical "business toolkit" to use in future endeavors. Larry Wittenberg and Theresa Kavanaugh will hold a course on "Intro to Intellectual Property University Licensing."
