We are very excited to announce today the launch of two new innovative features on Founders Workbench:
- Founders Finder, an open source navigation tool that connects entrepreneurs to the best industry-wide information – including links to law firms and other resources offering competing products – for overcoming the legal and organizational challenges faced by startup companies and emerging businesses.
- Founders University, an instructional, interactive e-learning series on key legal and business topics for the startup community. Founders University features leading Goodwin attorneys offering core “curriculum” areas such as financing; forming; growing; hiring; operating; and protecting. Each video is designed to provide startup founders with the basics needed to launch a company while minimizing costly missteps or mistakes.
Goodwin originally introduced Founders Workbench in 2010 with free start-up document creation capability, the first online legal resource for the startup community launched by a law firm. Since then, Goodwin has continued to enhance Founders Workbench to provide legal documents for establishing Limited Liability Companies, along with innovative web mobile apps for managing finances and understanding relevant legal and business terms.
“Moving to an open source environment continues to position Founders Workbench as a premier gateway for founders looking for tools and to help launch, run, and grow their businesses,” said John Egan, co-chair of Goodwin’s Technology and Life Sciences practice. “No other legal resource is linking to competitor sites, which underscores our goal of having Founders Finder and Founders University serve as indispensable tools for helping the startup community.”
Visitors to Founders Finder can access information by one of several categories, including: Accelerators/Incubators/Training; Avoiding Common Mistakes; Building a Team; Fundraising & Financing; Legal Resources; Operations & Management; Startup Locales; and more.
