In 2014, founders Michael Mignano and Nir Zicherman had become obsessed with podcasts. But they noticed how difficult and expensive launching a podcast was at the time. After developing a better, mobile-first approach, they embarked on revolutionizing how podcasts are created, shared and monetized. Goodwin has advised Anchor since its very beginning, including its incorporation, including fundraisings, intellectual property considerations, tax matters, compensation issues and ultimately on its acquisition by Spotify in 2019. Today Anchor has a growing customer base and a market share of more than 40 percent of all new podcasts.
